Privacy Policy

Showpile is a film and series tracker. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do. In short: we sell nothing, we show no ads, and we run no advertising trackers.
This page is available in English only. We would rather show you the reviewed English text than a machine translation of a legal document.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address and the display name and profile photo you choose. As you use the app we store the titles you track, your watch status and episode progress, the lists and collections you create, and the posts, comments and ratings you publish. If you turn notifications on we store a device token so we can send them.
Why we collect it
Your library and progress exist so they can sync across your devices and survive reinstalling the app. Your posts and public lists exist so other people can see them. Notification tokens exist so we can tell you an episode is out. None of it is used to build an advertising profile.
Who processes it
We use Google Firebase for accounts, the database, notifications, anonymised crash reports and anonymised usage counts — the last two so we can find and fix bugs and see which parts of the app are used. Film and series information comes from TMDB. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't run advertising SDKs, we don't use an advertising identifier, and we don't build an advertising profile; the usage counts we collect are our own and go no further. We don't read your contacts and we don't ask for your location. The app touches your photo library in two places only, both after you allow it: when you pick a profile photo, and when you save an image you made in the app. It never browses the rest of your library.
Public and private
Your watch history and private lists are visible only to you. Posts, comments, ratings and lists you explicitly mark public are visible to other users. You can switch a list from public to private at any time.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your posts, lists and profile inside the app, and delete your account entirely from Settings, which removes your profile and content — the Delete Account page sets out exactly what goes and what stays. Notifications can be turned off in Settings or in your device settings. To request a copy of your data, or deletion outside the app, email us.
Children
Showpile is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
